We tried 2 different e-collars given to us by our vet after my cat’s abdominal surgery that simply did not work. He was running into everything, confused and couldn’t even sensibly use his litter box. He even managed to pull out 10 of his staples and reopened his incision. I’m so glad we tried this suit- definitely worked better (and our cat was so much more comfortable). Our vet advised us to wear it with the cone because the material is thin and a cat could easily chew through it, but our cat did not. This definitely kept my cat from licking her belly. She really didn't like wearing it (I don't put clothes on her) and would either crawl or roll around the floor. The leg holes all looked to be ok and non-binding. After a bit the neck would be sliding down over shoulders-not sure if its just to big or neck to big. I pulled it back up. Overall decent item. I would prefer something with more pliable velcro on the back. I think that may be a reason she hated it so much is that the velcro is rather large and stiff. Ordered 3 greys for 2 8mo females s/p spaying. The suits I received had a neck toggle that I could tighten. And the back closure had 5 snaps. It was without velcro. Not the suit that was pictured. My girls are short hair domestic rescues. I bought size M and they weigh 5.4 and 5.6 lbs. They are about 12 in from neck to tail beginning. Chest size for the larger one is about 8in. I was skeptical at first but the fabric is soft and loose enough in the belly and leg and arm openings that I could see they moved easily and were comfortable. Although they were not the style in the picture, I'm glad I received these. I took advantage of the 2 suit set. One kitty had no problem with it but the other kitty got out of the suit in seconds. Twice. If I'm not mistaken, they were supposed to be the same style as pictured. The neck was very stretchy and there was no way to tighten it. Secondly, the suit had a stiff approx 1 in width velcro closure. Thankfully for the 3rd grey suit, I used it on Houdini. They wash up nicely and I used unscented soap. Oh yeah, I initially bought the expensive camo suitical. It had stiffer material and the snaps for the back legs I didn't like.
