Because of the Devon Rex, the Cornish Rex cats have very short hair, while the Sphinx hairless cats are completely hairless. It did exactly what was needed. We used it after our 4 1/2 month old cat was spade. Did not want to place a cone on her. Took a few minutes for her to steady herself as was noted in the description but she figured it out. Light weight which was good since she is long haired and could get too warm if it was heavy. Cute too. She was able to use the restroom just fine Would recommend it as an alternative to the cone which no cat likes. This was a fantastic alternative to the dreaded “cone“! After bringing my big guy Simon home from having an abdominal surgery, he lasted in the cone for only a few hours. The cone was not working. He was clumsy and very unhappy. I researched this and purchased immediately. I’m so glad this exists! My guy is on the larger side, and although the suit seems snug, there is ample room around the neck and rear area. Very little protest from my cat. This is also a better alternative to the cone, because not only does it prevent the recovering cats from ripping out his sutures, but it also is fantastic at preventing my other cats from chewing at his sutures. I got the delivery that morning and it was useless by the end of the day. My cat has a spot on his abdomen he has been overgrooming due to allergies for about half a year. I finally put him in a cone and the vet recommended he be in the e-collar for at least two months. He has seemed so miserable I thought this would be a good option. He actually seemed happier although he would need to get used to it. Everything seemed to be going well... until he used the bathroom... the poor thing peed all in the suit and was sitting in a wet diaper basically.
