I got the 5XL size just because I knew anything smaller wouldn't fit around my dog's chest (and honestly, even that only just fits right, but she's kinda barrel chested so there's not much you can do there). The material is great, and I love that it's reversible! It's a bit too long for her body, but I can fix that myself. I live in Wisconsin so this coat is great for our winters while walking. I do wish it was a bit thicker but it does the job. My dog is 76 lbs and I got the 7X. His chest measurement was right in between the 6X and 7X so I went with the larger size and it fits perfectly-------------jeanne79
