my cat had abdominal surgery and we were told it'd take him 10-14 days to recover fully and be able to lose the cone. Not a few hours into being home did he make it clear that he would NOT be cooperating. He would try so hard to get it off I was scared he'd pop his staples and once he figured out how to do it, it was game over. So we bought this to try instead and he was instantly relieved once we got it on and the cone off. He can't get to his incision at all, but he can eat drink and lay down completely normal and that's been a huge relief because he wasn't able to do so with the E collar. I'm almost mad vets don't tell you these exist, he suffered through 3 days before we got our hands on the suit. The velcro is really strong, the material is soft and stretchy, and it covers the entire area needed. Would 100% recommend to anyone with a cat in recovery.★★★★★★★★★By Lee
Tried Cones...tried the blow up cones...tried shirts...and almost gave up! This has saved the day! He keeps away from wound, and does not seem to uncomfortable in it at least--after a day of wearing it! Only problem is wearing it constant, it wears out fast!!! LIKE 4 days! Made of thinner material--and stretches--with cat pulling at straps around the arms...finally tore, he caught tooth on it and tore it more getting loose! we watch him well..so he was ok. I snipped around the seams of the arms after that--and outfit tore a bit more before we could get another one mailed to us..he ended up looking like he was wearing a bikini on the back! Our cat Beef Supreme HATED her cone after spay surgery. She was supposed to stay calm but she was rolling, jumping and flipping around, growling, trying to get her cone off. She was at risk of seriously hurting herself. I found this product. As you can see she looks rediculous, but calm. She was about 8 months old in the picture and I ordered the Large. I'd say it's true to size based on their size chart, we measured her before we ordered.She didn't mess with the suit when we were home but as soon as we left or went to sleep she managed to Houdini her way out of it somehow. So we did have to switch between this and the cone for a few days until she got the point. All cats are different of course.
