Our cat tends to lick a lot so when we got her spayed we knew we couldn't forego the dreaded cone. Poor girl lasted until she got home and was so exhausted from fighting we figured it was unsafe to have her stressing out and ramming her body around after her spray operation. I purchased a onesie to tide her over until this recovery suit arrived.She is able to be her own catty self with this suit on, No issues using the litter box, no issues of it coming off of her or impeding her range of motion. She took to it very well. I bought two sizes because my cat is small, and she still ended up being the medium. But I'm going to keep them both. Will definitely use again. The fabric is very soft. I did have a small amount of fraying on the seam but I think that may be due to my girl being a fierce licker with a very prickly tongue, as it was not like that when it arrived.★★★★★★★★★By Lauren
I really, really want to give this a 5-star rating because of how much better it is than the Cone of Shame my male cat would have needed after being neutered. But instead, I'm looking at the product objectively on its own, not just in comparison to the Cone.That being said, there are a few points I'd like to make:1. There were no instructions included. With the same number of holes on each end, someone could easily put this on their pet the wrong way. I ended up looking at the user photos on Petsserect for guidance.2. It's hard to tell if you have the correct size. I measured my cat and the L seemed to be the correct fit. It's a good fit around his neck, waist, and for his length, BUT he gets it wet almost every single time he pees. I'm not sure if this is a sizing or design issue, but it happens.3. Due to my cat soiling the outfit 99.9% of the time he pees, I would suggest saving your time I'm buying two of these. That way your cat isn't unprotected if you need to wash one.All in all it's leaps and bounds better than the Cone of Shame, but it's far from perfect. My cat had abdominal surgery last week, and they sent her home in a standard plastic cone, which she HATED. She's 7 years old, and a total clean freak. She couldn't even clean her face, and she couldn't figure out that the edge of the cone needed to be under her food bowl and would get totally frustrated when eating and drinking. I ordered the large size gray color in this vest and it is a DREAM. My cat is 10 lbs, with very long hair. Her neck is 8" and her back length is 14". This fits her perfectly. It's stretchy t-shirt material, and its snug but not too tight. She is thrilled to be able to clean herself now and reach her food and sleep comfortably now. There's also plenty of room in the private area for them to use the restroom and clean themselves after. The only thing she can't reach is the incision and it's just perfect.
