My cat had surgery on a Wednesday morning for a mammoey tumor. They told me she would be given a cone that she absolutely had to wear for 10 days and that she had to be kept in a large kennel as well, away from the other pets. I knew this was going to be almost impossible but had to figure something out quick! The day of her surgery, I told them they needed to fit her with a soft cone, which they agreed. I then went on the hunt for a second option should the cone not meet my satisfaction. I found this cat onesie and purchased same day delivery! Thank God, I did! We had set up a play pen in the media room with a security camera to watch her since we were not going to be in there as much as the other parts of our house. Watching the camera the night she came home, we noticed she slipped out of her cone. Put it back on, and she skipped out if it again. It was getting later and later and I couldn't go to sleep knowing she'd slip out of it again and start licking her stitches so I immediately opened the package and put the onesie on her. WHAT A RELIEF!!! She didn't care for it much and wouldn't move but boy did it do the job!! She eventually got used to it and I'd switch back n forth with the soft cone and onesie. Soft cone for when I was able to be around her and the onesie for when I was not in the room. Needless to say, she healed just fine and if not for the onesie, my life would've been 10 days of heart ache!!!! She's is 10 and a half lbs and wore a size large. It would slip down a tad at the neck when she would roll around but it stayed on just fine. It is very soft and easy to put on and take off, with the velcro straps closing on the back, not the stomach area. The material did not rub her stitches nor did it tear. The onesie held up perfectly! ordered this recovery suit for my cat and it didn't work.Pros: stretchy material, even though the neck is solid - it was easy to put my cat's head through it, true to size, relatively easy to put on.Cons: The neck line ended up somewhere on her shoulders, it didn't seem to be designed for a cat's body as it was making my cat move awkwardly, stretching oddly around hind legs even though there was plenty of space.We had to go back to the cone :(★★★★★★★★★By W.E.
Our poor kitty has an infected abscess on her side from a wound she wouldn’t stop licking. After a trip to the vet, she ended up with the cone of shame. Some cats may be able to adjust to the cone, like her kitty brother, but not our Josie! Her fun-loving personality completely disappeared and she was not only walking into walls and hiding under beds, she seemed really depressed! I ordered this suit as soon as I could and we’ve been waiting anxiously for it to arrive.I put it on her immediately and within less than five minutes, she started playing! She was definitely confused about what was on her body and kept shaking her back legs and wagging her tail but it’s been 3 hours now and she’s racing around playing and back to her happy self!She is 9 pounds and her back measured close to 15inches so I ordered the Large and it is a perfect fit on her. Her brother is a large 16 lb rag doll and I cannot imagine it fitting on him at all so definitely do not order for a larger cat! The material is pretty soft and thicker than I thought it would be. It covers the wound on her side perfectly so she can’t get to it and it can heal!
