I searched out this product because my cat seemed incredibly stressed out with use of the E-Collar the vets provided after her spaying. After reading the reviews I understood that it was a gamble and knew we may have to go back to the collar if it couldn’t stand up to her but gave it a chance due to her anxieties. The suit itself is rather thin but I lined the inside, where her incision would be, with menstrual pads two layers thick and it has worked like a dream. I can’t say that she’s insanely comfortable in it but she eats, drinks and uses the litter-box with no problem. I would definitely go by length over weight of the cat, my cat is seven pounds so I chose the medium but it seems to be a little short length wise. I think if the underside was a little thicker to prevent persistent cats from getting to wounds this would be a perfect product! I ordered this after my 5 month old, 4.5lb kitten was spayed bc she was still picking at the incision despite the cone. Unfortunately, the Small neck hole is still too large and she can wriggle out of it. It would work great, if she couldn’t get out of it.I tacked the neck hole while she was sleeping and will update the review if that works.I put it on my 14lb Siamese for additional size reference. Enjoy.1 star for the possibility of working.2 stars because she falls over like a fainting goat every time I put it on and it’s hilarious.UPDATE: making the neck hole smaller def worked. The suit has stayed on for 4 days no problem. I upgraded to 5 stars (wish there was a 4.5). My evil cat had to get spayed, but I knew it was going to be a challenge keeping the e-collar on, let alone getting it back on if she slipped out of it. And when I say “evil” I mean Lucifer got nothing on this B. She “tolerated” us when she was in heat, but that was pretty much it. Any who I was a little weary about the suit...it was a lot thinner than I thought, but then again you usually get what you pay for, but my god this suit worked like a charm. She never licked, or attempted to lick, the incision site, and after a full 2 weeks of 24/7 wear the suit didn’t have a single hole in it! And her belly healed up beautifully! Like..wow! Seriously, don’t even bother with those annoying e-collars! This thing is a must!! And to top it off she didn’t attempt to jump because her movement was a little restricted by the suit! Awesome! 5 stars!BTW: her measurements were in between a medium and large, so I went with the medium, and I’m glad I did. She’s a long haired domestic, and I think the large would’ve been too big.
